Forum One is looking for an experienced Interface Engineer to join our User Experience and Design practice.  The ideal candidate is someone obsessed with producing clean, accessible and semantic mark-up and can push browsers to their limits with CSS and Javascript, particularly with the jQuery library. If you think of yourself as a UI developer with a design eye who can comfortably walk the line between front-end and back-end environments, read on!

Responsibilities

• Hand code design comps into optimized, standards compliant websites
• Create cross browser/platform compatible sites. Create interfaces that are fast and consistent across browsers. Demonstrate an intimate knowledge of browser quirks and best practices.
• Implement the latest semantic XHTML with CSS, and create accessible dynamic interfaces with JavaScript and AJAX.
• Demonstrate understanding of graphic design for the web and layout. Experience with Photoshop required.

 
Key Qualifications

• Someone who can imagine how a page or page element will look, design it with a level of polished professionalism, then switch gears to build it in XHTML, CSS, Javascript/AJAX or Flash.
• Experience with CMS development, especially Drupal.
• Working knowledge of PHP.
• Understanding of web standards, search engine optimization methods and accessibility guidelines.
• Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate persuasively.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines on a tight schedule. Positive attitude and ability to flex.
• Experience collaborating with others and working in small teams.
