Boston.com is seeking an ambitious and innovative Interactive Developer to join our Digital Technology team.

 The Position:

As an Interactive Developer, you will work to execute user interface elements, graphics, animation, demos and tutorials supporting the visual, branding, navigational and stylistic needs of Web sites and Web applications.

You should be fearless in your approach to new technologies and open to new, exciting ways of building web applications.  You will use your creativity, skills, and development experience to bring the most thorough and engaging product possible to the end-user.

Requirements

·          Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience.

·          Must have expert-level understanding and experience with (X)HTML, CSS, and Javascript as well as strong understanding of Flash and Actionscript 3.

·          Data services integration: XML, JSON, SOAP, etc.

·          Experience with content management systems a plus.

·          Knowledge of online ad systems preferred – OAS, Doubleclick, etc.

·          Experience with web video and Flash video players such as Brightcove.

·          Familiarity with any templating language a plus.

·          Community awareness (online resources, frameworks, etc)

·          Passion for new technologies and a drive to find better ways of producing interactive web content

·          Excellent attention to detail

·          Exposure to working with a content delivery network (CDN)
