(Newport Beach or Bay Area, CA)

This is a  full-time position. Learning.net headquarters are located in Newport Beach, CA. We are also a distributed company, so we will consider remote candidates as well.

We're looking for an experienced individual to join our team of developers and help us expand our software development processes and continue to develop and support our software product, Trellis Learning Management System.

Primary responsibilities would include developing web-based applications using PHP, Javascript, MySQL and Linux and maintaining/improving/developing new applications. We are seeking someone who is upbeat, with excellent communication skills, and an intense drive to learn new things.

Requirements:

• Experience must include at least 3 years of professional LAMP (PHP) web development
• Strong programming skills and experience with PHP frameworks, MVC and Object Oriented Programming
• Thorough knowledge in XHTML, CSS and Javascript/jQuery (comfortable coding by hand)
• Experience running and developing on Open Source platforms like Linux.
• Swears by version control (svn, git, etc)
• A team player, able to work directly with developers and project managers
• Demonstrated success in a previous performance role, or in open-source
• Passion for web applications, web development and design
• Sense of humor

Pluses:

• Experience with Online Education/Learning
• Web APIs
• Experience with Flash and Actionscript
• Experience working on high-volume websites
• An eye for design

You’ll work on multiple projects under light supervision, communicate clearly, respond to constructive feedback from the team and customers, and be able to provide constructive criticism and feedback on other projects as well. You should possess strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail and be able to take responsibility for a project from inception to completion.
