Speakaboos is looking for a full-time designer tojoin our team and help lead the upcoming redesign of our flagship site. You will work hand in hand with our Creative Director and Senior Developer to make Speakaboos the best children's destination on the web! Disney? Disney who?

Speakaboos is a children's entertainment site featuring classic stories brought to life through amazing celebrity performances, custom illustrations, and original music. The site includes storybook videos, games, activities, content for teachers and parents, and a whole lot more. We are a small, but well-funded company full of energetic people, and have partnered with major children's brands like PBS Kids, the National Education Association (NEA), and many others.

This position is predominantly design-oriented, and your work will be largely web-related. There will be some occasional print layout as well, and if you can illustrate (by hand or digitally) or write great code, well that's even better!

To be a good fit for this position you must...

• be wizard with Photoshop and Illustrator.
• have a great eye for, passion for, and experience with all kinds of design and typography - specifically user interface design and usability.
• pay extreme attention to the finest pixel-accurate details of designing for the web.
• have at least 2-3 years of real professional experience.
• have a Bachelors degree (or higher) in a related field.
• have an excellent online portfolio.

If any of these sound like you, it's a BIG plus:

• You have very strong, or expert (X)HTML / CSS / JS chops (no, Dreamweaver doesn't count).
• You have a passion for web standards.
• You have expertise with Flash, either hand animating or Actionscript.
• You are a great illustrator.

And, personally, we'll like you even more if any of these sound like you:

• You have experience working in a children's company or on children's products (or always wanted to).
• You are not boring.
